When your xbox live gold membership runs out DON’T renew it from Microsoft directly. In the UK they will try to fleece you for £40, but there’s umpteen websites (including ebay sellers) who are offering it for £15 LESS. I reckon these traders must be importing the cards from the US and taking advantage of the exchange rate. (more)

As you may recall, xbox live was down for a day on Monday Sep29th for essential upgrades. Cue predictable moans from people saying, “i hope they compensate us for this downtime”, etc etc. By my rough reckoning xbox live costs users in the UK 11p per day.
